Meridians are pathways through which Qi, blood, and information circulate.

They connect:

  • The surface of the body with internal organs
  • Muscles with joints
  • Physical sensation with emotional processing
  • The nervous system with hormonal and immune regulation

There are twelve primary meridians, each linked to an organ system and a functional role in the body.

Modern research shows acupuncture points often align with areas of high nerve density, connective tissue intersections, and distinct electrical properties in the fascia.

Meridians explain why pain in one area can be treated through another.

They describe how the body operates as an integrated whole.

When meridian flow is balanced, the body communicates clearly with itself.
